Microtext

Microtext is an advanced security technique in which ultra-small text is printed that is not visible to the naked eye. Application examples: cheques, transport tickets, excise stamps…

How it works

  • Text is printed extremely small, at a size of just 0.36 pt. Without a magnifying glass it appears as though there is simply a line or pattern.
  • This text is printed at high resolution, as it must still be legible.
  • In some cases, deliberately integrated errors are included in the text.

Security

  • Invisible to the naked eye.
  • Difficult to reproduce without specialised equipment.
