Personalized print starts with data such as names, preferences and/or information derived from the recipient’s (purchase) behavior. Using specialized software and variable data printing technology, we transform this data into a unique, individual message tailored to the recipient’s profile.

Applications include transactional communication, direct mail, personalized brochures and invitations, loyalty campaigns, and more. Personalized elements are also increasingly integrated into business documents and packaging solutions, for example through unique barcodes or numbering to enhance their functionality.

Security and certifications

Your print is in safe hands with us, as demonstrated by our ISO 14298 certification. This certification was issued by Intergraf and awarded after strict audits conducted by the specialized certification body VPGI Certification BV.

In other words, Group Joos is a certified security printer.

This certificate proves that we meet the highest security standards. We have made significant investments in the electronic security of our buildings and premises, including alarm systems and camera surveillance. Visitors are only granted access after careful registration.

In addition, we have safes and separate secured areas with very strict access control.

Several clients audit our security measures annually. The conclusions of these audits help us continuously optimize our security policy.

As we work daily with sensitive personal information, information security and the integrity of personal data are essential to us. Our information security is certified according to ISO 27001.

This certification demonstrates that we have implemented a reliable Information Security Management System (ISMS). It provides our customers with the assurance that we handle confidential information with the utmost care.

We are therefore a highly reliable partner for outsourcing privacy-sensitive processes.

At Group Joos, we operate fully in compliance with GDPR legislation. This guarantees our clients a highly careful processing of their data. We ensure the highest level of security and confidentiality at all times.

Group Joos holds the ISO 14298 security certification, which enables us to produce secure printing.

For the processing of personal data, we operate an Information Security Management System certified according to ISO 27001.

Group Joos is the only company in Belgium holding both of these certifications.

We are supported by a Data Protection Officer and conclude GDPR agreements with our clients for the processing of personal data.

Continuous improvement is a key principle in our daily operations.

We are happy to refer you to The Great GDPR Handbook (only in Dutch), which covers all 99 articles from the first official publication of the GDPR. In 2018, the authors Viktor D’Huys and Peter Witsenburg translated the abstract GDPR legislation into practical and useful guidance that is accessible to everyone.

The publication of The Great GDPR Handbook was as remarkable as it was noteworthy. The book was written from real-life experience. Viktor D’Huys, former CIO of Group Joos, collaborated with co-author Peter Witsenburg, who is not only a Computable expert in Belgium, but also a cloud broker, information security officer, and owner of Witsenburg Consultancy. Both authors were GDPR pioneers and shared their insights and expertise at the launch of the GDPR in a book published in 2018.

The debate around data privacy was, and still is, one of the defining issues of this decade. In that context, Europe introduced new legislation through the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), aiming to restore a balance between citizens’ right to privacy and companies’ ability to process personal data. This marked the beginning of a new era in data processing and privacy — both for individuals and their customers.

As a communication specialist handling millions of documents annually — often containing confidential data — Group Joos engaged with GDPR requirements at a very early stage.
“We see it as our responsibility to share knowledge,” says CEO Alex Joos. “Knowledge should not be kept behind walls or hidden away.”

For that reason, Viktor D’Huys, who as CIO was also responsible for information security and coordinated the GDPR project, launched a blog on data privacy and GDPR on the Group Joos website in mid-2017.

Has the GDPR changed since its introduction in 2018?

The GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) has not been fundamentally rewritten since it came into force on 25 May 2018. The core rules remain largely the same today.

However, the regulatory framework continues to evolve in practice through:

Case law of the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU)
These rulings clarify how the rules must be applied (e.g. regarding cookies, personal data, and international data transfers).

Guidelines and recommendations from supervisory authorities
Such as the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) and national authorities.

New European legislation
Additional regulations like the AI Act, Data Act, and cybersecurity laws (NIS2) build further on GDPR principles.

The European Union is also currently working on possible simplifications and adjustments to reduce administrative burdens, although these proposals are still under development.

👉 The most recent and official version of the GDPR can always be consulted via the European legislative portal EUR-Lex.

This publication aimed to support entrepreneurs and act as a practical guide for complying with the legislation. It provides an overview of key GDPR definitions and concepts, along with explanations of the reasoning and underlying philosophy behind the regulation. The Great GDPR Handbook is only available in Dutch.

Meet Jossh

JOSSH is a closed web-to-print platform. Only registered users have access.

Through this webshop, different users (departments, branches, offices, divisions, individual employees) can order or download internal and external print materials according to their assigned rights and approval workflows.

This includes items such as business cards, product documentation, printed materials, personalized documents, and the consultation and download of digital materials, POS materials, etc.

Using smart templates, users can also create new and/or personalized communication materials online.

We handle the entire logistical process. Personalized leaflets and documents are produced on demand and shipped directly to the recipient or to a central distribution point.

If required, we can also print stock in advance and manage it proactively.

It is possible to connect our communication platform JOSSH with your own ERP system or ordering platform. Through an API, data can be exchanged and linked seamlessly between the systems.
